If you’ve lived here all your life, you probably already know or have these things. If you’re new to the state or will be relocating here soon, consider this your New Jersey survival guide. Life is much easier in our state when you have these 8 essential items.

During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.

1. A winter coat

Winter is coming. It may only be June but in 6 more months get ready to freeze. You'll probably want two winter coats, a warm wool jacket, and a massive puffer for those zero-degree days.

2. A bathing suit

There are four seasons in New Jersey and summer gets hot. To cool down, we head to the shore, lake, or nearest town pool.

3. Bug spray

Mosquitoes are a serious problem in New Jersey. Ticks are an even worse problem. Enjoy spending time outdoors but make sure not to skimp on repellent.

4. A GPS

You definitely don't want to miss your Parkway exit. A u-turn can take forever during rush hour.

5. An airbag

With our traffic and crazy New Jersey drivers, you'll definitely be grateful for them. A horn is another must - have you heard of the Jersey sweep?

6. Hair spray

So. Much. Humidity. And you know we love big hair!

7. Lots of money

You need money almost everywhere but we all know our cost of living is astronomical. It's worth it.

8. A sense of humor

People are always going to hate on New Jersey. They're probably just jealous. Fuggedaboutit!
